Led the league in 1947-48 (102) and 1948-49 (126)…one of two players with 100+ hits in two seasons and the only one to do it consecutively…holds record of more hits in two consecutive seasons (228)… won championship as player/manager in 1948-49…named to the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993…in 2014 he was selected as one of the best 75 players of the Puerto Rico Professional League
