Played four years in Puerto Rico, three with Aguadilla and one with Santurce…pitcher with most complete games in three consecutive season with 62. 1939-40 (24), 1940-41(16) y 1941-42 (22)..In 1940, against Mayagüez, he struckout 15 batters, and had two in four at bats, winning, 10-7…on February, 4, 1940, in the first of a double header, Day batted two home runs with 5 rbi and in the second game, got a 2-1 victory against Ponce…on January 7, 1940, against Santurce, he struckout 19 in 13 innings…holds record for most strikeouts in three accumulative seasons with 497…in four ocassions he struck out 10+ in a game:

In 1939-40, Aguadilla as a team hit three home runs and all of them where by Leon Day…named to the Hall of Fame in 1995, he is the only inductee with a Puerto Rico team cap, Aguadilla…he is also a member of the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball Hall of Fame since 1993…recipient of the prestigious Francisco Coimbre Award in 2021.
