Led the league in earn run average in 1938-39 (2.00) and 1941-42 (1.80)…in 1939-40, he did not allow earn runs in 36 consecutive innings…one of three pitchers to lead the league in ERA twice (the others are Tomás “Planchardón” Quiñones and Adalberto Flores)…only pitcher undefeated in two consecutive seasons (1938-39 y 1939-40)…on February 24th, 1947, he combined with José Santiago in the victory of Ponce over the New York Yankees, 12-8, in an exhibition game held at Sixto Escobar Stadium in Puerto Rico…named to the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996 and to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006…in 2014 he was selected as one of the best 75 players of the Puerto Rico Professional League.
