In 1939-40 he did not allow earned runs in 38 consecutive innings…in 1940-41, he became the first and only pitcher to win a batting title and one of two with .400+ (the other was Bob Thurman in 1947-48)…in 2014 he was selected as one of the best 75 players of the Puerto Rico Professional League.
