In 1948-49, he led the league in batting (.402), doubles (27), triples (9), runs (81) and slugging (.751); in an 80 game calendar…also he won the MVP award…only player with 80 runs batted in and 81 runs in a season (1948-49)…In 1955-56, he became the oldest player to led the league in home runs with 40…only player to led the league in batting average, doubles, triples and runs (1948-49)…one of five with nine consecutive hits (1948-49)…in 2014 he was selected as one of the best 75 players of the Puerto Rico Professional League. Inducted into the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025.
